Logical Fallacies
In the clip, there are a lot of logical fallacies. The chart depicting how the rate of leprosy has increase and will continue to increase till 2015 is a good example of a logical fallacy. They chart is depicting that all of human kind will one day have leprosy and your fingers will fall off. I think its just a comical way to scare people. Like they did with the bird flu, or the swine flu. The magazine companies want you to pick up and buy their magazine, so they put scary headlines on the front to catch your attention. They try to make you believe that what they are saying is true through logical fallacies. Another logical fallacy in the video is that, immigrants are the reason for the return of leprosy and other diseases in the United States. Why this is a fallacy is, because they are comically portraying, that because one of a few cases have been documented among immigrants of leprosy, that they were the ones to bring it in. It seems to me like America just wants someone to point the finger at. The clip even stated how and why this information is irrelevant with them stating, that leprosy has been in the U.S. for 30 years with over 7,000 cases. Another fallacy they make is that illegal immigrants are bring guns, and gangs into our country. Guns and gangs were in our country long before illegal Mexican immigrants came into our country. It has been a huge problem for years and years. I found the clip very funny and very accurate on how our government like to "point the finger" at anyone else but themselves.

Do violent video games cause behavior problems?
http://serendip.brynmawr.edu/exchange/node/1723
This is gonna be a very good site or me to use. This site has a lot of different sections in it, describing where they got their information, and how it is applied to everyday life. They also list a lot of examples, and where a topic they are talking about has happened and what the effects where. Evidence is a good thing to have in a contriversal topic and this web site has plenty of it. They also are an, ".edu" website and state their references. So you know the information you are getting, is more likely to be more reliable.

Well this website is on wikipedia, so you can guarantee the information I will be getting from it, is gonna be reliable. This website has a lot of statistics, which are a good way to organize information. Statistics are also a good way describe what you are talking about, and to get your adience interested in what you are talking about. It provided a, real-world example, and is more relatable to the reader. It also has incidents I can use as examples.

This website is going to help me organzie and list what my main points, are gonna be for my paper. I often have a hard time coming up with topics and keeping them organized. So I wanted to find a website that would list the pros and cons of video games. It also has some interesting background information on video games, and some graphs I might use to my benfit!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technology_and_society
I have found two different websites that support, Why video game are a leading cause of bad behavior in kds. To make this a fair contriversal topic, I also need two websites that support, 'Why video game are not a leading cause in bad behavior in kids. I am not sure how I feel about this topic, so I need to look at not only video games, but how society has changed over the last 100 years. How technology has influenced the world and if there is another huge factor in this topic. This website provides good examples, statistics, and information for this.

How to Tell a True War Story
Tim O'Brien, in this short story, isn't tell a story about war. He is telling about, all the different things that went on during it. How it happened, how it affected people and its a story about courage. How little things from Nam are still with him today. How, you never really think about the begginings of life, till you have reached the end of it. I was completely captivated by it. The way he described Nam, did make parts of it sound beautiful, and terrifying. The colors of the rounds, rockets, and granades. I think war, is a word only someone who has been in a war can understand. I think we all take our everyday life for granted, until you come that close to losing it. Or whats worse, not knowing if you are going to lose your life or not. Not knowing whats gonna happen. I think when you go to war with another person, you bond closely with them. You both experience what people at home can not. You share the day to day struggles, and victories of war. You have faith, that the man next to you is gonna lay down his life for yours, and you trust him and your team with your life. How parts of war even if true, are to true to believe. People don't want to hear, how horrible it was. The truth of it all, is hard to believe. Reading this, gave me just a small glance at what a person thinks while in a war. How it stays with you your whole life, and how you never fully understand it. War shows you who you really are and whats really important in life.

Persuasive Writing Intro
http://www.chron.com/opinion/article/It-s-just-common-sense-to-tax-rich-at-higher-rate-2195728.php
http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookman-blog/2011/10/11/obamas-new-found-populism-finding-voter-favor/
Taxes. A word everybody hates. Is there a reason for them? Yes. Does that mean we have to like them? No. Obama had recentley proposted taxing the rich, an extra 15 percent, based on what they make a year.
Jay Bookman, has good points in his post, about how Democrates are for Obamas tax-hike, but what to lower the rate to 5 percent. Saying it would fund everything Obama plans to do with the "job package."
He went on in saying, how a lot of Americans are for the tax-hike and support him. I also find a part of myself agreeing with Obama. The 1 percent of Americans that are rich, SHOULD in my mind pay extra. They have the means, and the wealth to do so. But should that mean, we have to rely on the rich to get the U.S. out of debt? Was it their fault in the first place? Did the rich cause this? Corpret Greed to my knowledge is to blame for part, but wealthy americans? No.
Yes the money would raise jobs, but is that going to solve the problem? Is it even the rich's problem to solve? I agree that I would love to see the rich taxed extra. But how much is too much. A 5 percent tax I could see as being fair, they have to money to afford it. E. J. Dionne Jr. also made a good point on how congress isnt taxed extra. With the money they make, why aren't they jumping up to help out? This to me, is just another example of Corpret Greed. So willing to point the finger at someone else.
Do I feel the rich should be taxed? Yes I do. They are the lucky ones who still have a job, money, and hope. I think they should want to help. Do I feel they are the ones who need to fix our economy? No. It wouldnt fix it anyway. The U.S. Is 14 Trillion dollars in debt. No amount of taxing, is going to change that.
Both authors agreeded that somthing must be done. E.J. Dionne Jr. also made a good point, that congress are so willing to tax wealthy Americans, but what about them? Wealthy congress men should be taxed as well. It is sad to think the rich are getting taxed, but I personally think they should be taxed a little more. They can afford it.
